16-Bit vs. 24-Bit vs. 32-Bit Audio - makeuseof.com
https://www.makeuseof.com/16-bit-vs-24-bit-audio/
Each digital sound wave is broken up into samples, much like how a digital image is broken up into samples. Each sample has a range of possible amplitudes (volumes) that can be produced. This range of amplitudes is called the dynamic range. Below is an example of a 4-bit Digital to Analog Converter(DAC). Each sample is assigned a c…
Benefits of high end DACs for listening to 16 bit audio ...

Well recorded 16 bit audio files have noise floor at about 96db or so (1bit ~ 6db). Most of my music is at this bit depth, and I have a DAC that covers this (Focusrite Scarlett). Now with volume control aside, would I benefit from a high end 24 bit DAC, that has a SNR > 96db? If yes why? You must log in or register to reply here. Similar threads

Digital audio amplifiers DAT recorders and players Synthesizers and keyboards FUNCTIONAL BLOCK DIAGRAM Figure 1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION The AD1856 is a monolithic, 16-bit pulse code modulation (PCM) audio DAC. The device provides a voltage output amplifier, 16-bit DAC, 16-bit serial-to-parallel input register, and voltage reference.
What about all these 32-bit DACs? - MSB Technology
https://www.msbtechnology.com/faq/what-about-32-bit-dacs/
In principle the typically six bit number may be applied to a six bit DAC and the analog output is produced. “ So the hot new 32 bit DACs are actually 6 bit DACs with a 32 bit digital filter. It is undoubtably a good DAC for the market it was designed for. The MSB digital filter runs at 80 bit resolution and the MSB DACs are 24 or more bits.

It's possible that what you want is made, but most DACs you will find built into an MCU would not have more than 12-bit resolution. In fact simple static DACs of 16 bit resolution are not all the commonly built or used, and are unnecessary for audio. Instead, more complex technique such as Sigma Delta modulation are typically used.
24 bit dac, 16 bit audio - windows volume bit loss ...
https://www.reddit.com/r/audiophile/comments/7kkjvx/24_bit_dac_16_bit_audio_windows_volume_bit_loss/
With a 24-bit DAC and a 24-bit (or higher) volume control going into the DAC, you're not losing bits until you've attenuated the signal by ~48 dB. Add to it that for typical rooms, the few lowest bits of a 16-bit DAC will be well below the room's noise floor until you're playing at a level that has ~120-130 dB instantaneous peaks.
The 24-Bit Delusion - Mojo Audio

A 16-bit recording has 65,536 steps, a 20-bit recording has 1,048,576 steps, and a 24-bit recording has 16,777,216 steps. Yes, you read that correctly: a 24-bit recording has 256 times the number of amplitude steps as a 16-bit recording. The more bits and/or the higher the sampling rate used in quantization, the higher the theoretical resolution.
High-accuracy 16 bit DAC for Arduino / shaduzLABS

A 16 bit DAC solution for your Arduino! The schematic is very simple, it's just the DAC (Analog Devices AD420), a few capacitors and an operational amplifier used as voltage follower in order to provide some buffering to the DAC output.
