I agree the audio output plug is mono. The 200XLT is a tremendous scanner. At the recent Dayton Hamvention, I bought two new NiMH battery pack refills for mine, which has been in continuous use since I bought it in 1990. It's sensitivity on VHF-Hi can not be matched. I use mine primarily for Rail Scanning and WX.
