The speaker on the 396XT is way better than the one on the 396T! The volume is much louder with the XT. Also the audio is not as fuzzy at lower volume levels compared to the 396T. Most of the improvement in the XT is due to the redesign of the speaker grille. Make sure you have the analog and digital audio gain controls turned on.
