It's a nifty low-voltage rail-to-rail dual opamp, very low noise (2.7nV/√Hz), high output current (220mA), CMOS (low input bias current of 1pA), and even sounds quite nice driving headphones directly. Max supply voltage is 5.5V, so output voltage swing is limited (but the fact that it's rail-to-rail helps a lot).

above 5V, the op-amp is not supplied with enough voltage to get it that high and the output will cut off at the most it can produce. This is never quite as high as 5V because of the losses inside the op-amp. Another common limitation is amount of current an op-amp can supply. Large demands for current by a low resistance load can interfere with

Re: 5V Audio Op amp. No amplifier powered from 0/5V rails will amplify AC signal centered around ground. You will need to generate a virtual ground at 2.5V or so and shift the signal back and forth with coupling capacitors. Also, deal with possible noise injection from USB.

I bought quite a few when RoHS was implemented and they sold out the parts with lead so I forgot to check the price, sorry.

At only 29mm (1.14in) high it is the smallest discrete type op-amp in the world. It conveniently fits wherever they’re used. Unsurpassed Performance Driven by Passion and Refined over time Compared to the V4 SS op-amp, the V5 requires less voltage and current. That means peak performance can be reached using less power.

Just connect R2 to the Arduino's +5V supply like you did before. Only the op amp's Vcc needs to be at 9V. For a more accurately centered bias point you could insert a capacitor in series with R3, then the op amp will have a DC gain of …
