I put in some 6146As and am getting stellar audio reports, barefoot, and with the SLC Varian Eimac 3-500s and the Amp Supply Linear, as well as other linear amps. These wound up in a Kenwood hybrid, and they are holding up well even through an antenna tuner and 300 Watt relays. Good audio reports with these too!

The rather low Ug2 max.ratings of 250V is a limiting factor and doesn't allow using the 6146 in U/L circuits, but it is a very sturdy tube and with a stable (regulated) screen supply you can easily get 100 watts audio power from a pair in cl. AB PP.

Do a search on the net for ''single ended 6146 amp'' and I'll guess a lot of results will emerge. You may have to leave out parts of the pre-amp circuit, if used as an audio amp.
