I have the Explorer 8300HD box. I have a Dell W4200HD plasma that *IS* connected via HDMI. It has worked on every 8300HD I've had (which is three - they have a tendency to overheat). Though I use an external audio decoder connected via Digital Optical (TOSLINK), I have verified that the HDMI is carrying audio and video without fail.
