AFAIK in nvidialand, only the 8800gt can output 5.1 audio over the HDMI connection. The question of how or if was raised in another thread and there is no confirmation eitherway yet. As for other cards, i guess that you'll have to use the the internal spdif to "input" the audio to the card, or you may still need to route the audio via seperate spdif or stereo to your …

Wangaratta vic 3677 Theres a spdif input on the 8600gt which you run your motherboards spdif out to and thats how you get audio over hdmi. If your card doesnt have a spdif header which some 8XXX series dont then ya kindia scewed.
