Explainers: is there any point in recording at 96kHz ...

However, I did note that if rendered audio sounded better at 96kHz, then was sample-rate converted to 44.1kHz and played back at 44.1kHz, the improved quality was still there. This makes sense: If the improvement at 96kHz falls into the audible range, 44.1kHz has no trouble reproducing what’s in the audible range, it just has a hard time with ...

I’ve also found that even 96 kHz isn’t enough to represent some synth waveforms accurately, and 192 kHz is preferable. At this frequency, though, reality intrudes: Running projects at 192 kHz limits the number of audio streams, stresses out your computer, and some plug-ins won’t even work at that sample rate.

Other audio sample rates: 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz, etc. While 44.1 kHz is an acceptable audio sample rate for consumer audio, there are instances in which higher sample rates are used. Some were introduced during the early days of digital audio when powerful anti-aliasing filters were expensive.

Additionally, 96 kHz audio files may have decreased processing latency and enable superb sound downward pitch-shift features for sound editing and gaming audio. Furthermore, a 96 kHz recording may get easily lowered to 48 kHz if necessary. If you want to record at any sample rates higher than 96 kHz, you will need to experiment with analog ...

For whatever reason, OBS sees only one channel from the 32 (ummm, yeah), and no audio over it. New firmware came out for the mixer, which allows 48khz sampling over USB for the SQ. Will test it out. S. STEPHANVS Member. Apr 27, 2020 #4 Checked with 48khz, same. While Desktop Audio shows MONO in the screenshot above, it turns STEREO as soon as ...

So yeah, you could have 96 KHz or even 192 KHz or even a million KHz, but that doesn't mean any additional utility because it's outside of the range of our hearing. High sample rates are specs that manufacturers of audio products like to put on the box because consumers aren't very educated and they think higher numbers means more power.
44.1 VS 96KHZ. Visible difference? Is it worth the CPU ...

Importing a track that was recorded at a 44.1 kHz into a project with a doubled sample rate isn't going to effect loudness. By exporting a track at 44.1, you've already discarded any audio that exceeds 22 kHz. So you'll end up with a much bigger .wav if you export again at 96 kHz, but the increased file size is caused by a bunch of empty space.
Will I notice a difference between 96kHz and 192kHz ...

The difference between the two rates, mathematically, is a better noise floor, probably far exceeding that of the specs of the DAC you are interested in. The noise floor comes from the number of bits per sample, not the sample rate. 192K and 96K will in many cases sound different when doing A/B comparisons. However, 192K will not always sound ...
