I have a eVGA 9600GT SC (512-P3-N862) 512MB video card and it seems to have a 3 pin S/PDIF out connector, in order to route the digital audio over the HDMI cable. I have contacted eVGA and this cable does not come in any 9600GT boxes, nor do they sell it separately. I am not requiring this cable now but would like to get this at some point.

9600GT series doesn't an onboard audio card, it needed an sperate soundcard to handle the processing which was buggy at the best of times. It was the main reason ATI was such a big hit for HTPC users as it was first to adopt proper HDMI with video and HD audio through a stadardised cable.

Hi, I have just upgraded my PC which has a 9600gt video card, I have connected my PC to my Samsung DLP (SP50) TV via HDMI and can get pictures but no sound only bad distortion, the spdif is connected to the mother board and digital sound is activated in the nvidia sound settings. I have a Nvidia geforce 9600gt graphics card with dual dvi outputs. I'm using a DVI to HDMI adapter to connect to my samsung LCD tv. I'm not getting any audio out of the tv and i've tried all the drivers that people have posted and i've looked at my graphics card and there are no spdif pins on it so i can't connect it to my mobo.
