Not sure if this is what you want, but you can convert any Purchased AAC file into an MP3 within iTunes. Highlight all the songs you want and then go to File -> Convert -> Create MP3 Version (at least, that's how to do it on a Mac). Obviously, that'll take a bit of time for 6k songs, but it'll be much quicker than CD ripping.
