The Adcom GFP-555 was my first 'high end' preamp. I loved this pre, it did everything right! It was a minimalist piece with real world circuitry. Paired with my Adcom GFA 555 amp, it was marvellous. :-) I bet the 565 was even better, but I don't see how. I wish I would have kept it for my second system in my office.

Like a lot of audio companys some products they put out are un inspiring at best. But ADCOM made the GFA 555 and it is one of the best "bang for the buck" 2 channel amps out there, even today used! ADCOM's GFP 565 pre amp is another great sounding product they made.

This is used in conjunction with an Adcom GFA555II and SRS 1.2TL's. I understand the GFA750 to be either passive or active depending on user selection of this function.

My primary source is a Theta Data III to a Genesis Digital Lens optionally a Z-Systems rdp-1 digital preamp and a Theta Pro Gen Va upgraded to 24/96. I can drive my amps directly from the Gen Va using the Z- Systems. I use quattro fil on the audio and Orchids as the digital interconnect. I only use the GFP-750 in the Passive mode.
