If I have to believe adire, then there must be something wrong at my end. But I don't see where I cud've gone wrong. I'm using a simple AR sub cable to connect my onkyo 502 receiver's sub out to rava. If I switch to HSU in the same setup, it plays great. But rava is dead silent. This is extremely frustrating! I don't have personal experience with the Rava, but I do have a custom made sub built with the Adire Tempest driver in a 21" cube enclosure. I've compared this one to the Paradigm Servo 15 and the performance is similar. The price is, however, is not. I paid about $900 Cdn delivered for my sub; the Paradigm new is about $2200.

The Rava is discussed extensively and gets consistent raves at audio sites such as the audioasylum. You can do searches there. I would up building a sealed diy Tempest, the Rava's bigger 15" brother, because the cost difference of the raw drivers was minimal, I was planning to use it in a huge room, and I figured why the heck not!

Then adjust the subwoofer volume for a good balance between the mains and the subwoofer. Now, set the receiver to home theater/surround mode. Set the mains to small.
