I've only used the CM54 taped to a SM57 on the top of a snare but it's warm and accurate. The 414's I've used as overheads and on acoustics. I haven't had a chance to A/B them with real 414's but they sounds great as their own thing. Suffice to say I'm loving mine and can't wait to pick up a few more.
