The digital portion of the Express base station's audio port takes a 3.5 mm optical digital miniplug. You can either use a miniplug to TOS adapter or a cable which already has the plug at one end. It's called a mini-TOSlink. It has the same dimensions as a 3.5mm headphone jack, but is simply a small tube.
