After much tinkering, I was finally able to get AmarecTV to work with the following settings. I don't actually have anything running to the audio inputs on my Dazzle, but if I selected (not used) for the audio capture device I didn't get any sound on my recordings. Putting this here in case anyone else has similar problems.

Run As Admin - For Vista/Win7/Win8, make sure to run AmarecTv with Administrator rights to avoid random crashes. Right click on amarec.exe, then click properties on the context menu. When the next window appears, click on the compatibility tab. Near the bottom you'll see a checkbox option to run as administrator.
