I had to turn Amarok all the way up as well as my speaker to hear anything. I was also getting a message that said "The Audio playback device HDA Intel (ALC662 Rev1 Analog) does not work. Falling back to default." I reverted back to VLC 1.1.13-6 and it seemed to set it back to normal. $ lspci |grep Audio
