In Antec cases, the front panel audio ports have their ground connected to the USB grounds and through them to the case. This apparently sets up a ground loop as the ports are then earthed through both the motherboard and the case.

Messages. 337. Whenever you use front-panel audio jacks, you always introduce another element in the mix that can screw up your signal path. It doesn't matter how nice your case is (Antec 900 is a great case btw), you always risk introducing noise to your clean audio signal. It's good practice to NOT use front panel jacks in general.

Problem: Front speaker port (green) on my Antec 900 case does not work. Specs: Antec 900 Case 780 SLI mobo quad core 4gb ram GTX 550 TI speakers are the Bose Companion 2 Windows 7 32bit pro etc etc. So far: I have Realtek HD audio manager installed.
