1. Open the Menu. Go to Initial Setup, Input Settings, Output select. Set Output select to "fixed". If it is set to variable, the audio menus are greyed out. 2. Go to Audio Settings. Under the Treble, Bass etc settings is Auto Volume - set this to "off" I think the key is the setting in 1 above, although turning off auto volume also helped in our case.

About Aquos Link... Onkyo's TX-SA606X receiver and some other Onkyo models handles Sharp AQUOS, Panasonic Viera and Toshiba REGZA HDMI control schemes. But they're abit pricey atm (but i could get one if i knew if that's really worth it), so i'm looking for other options. My budget would be about £200-300.
