· The AR-4x is a very decent vintage speaker system made by the original old Acoustic Research Inc. when they were "King of the Hill" in audio Hi-Fi sound back in the late 1960's. Atrac the problem is most likely the tweeter potentiometer (level control) needs to be cleaned or replaced if it has oxidized and corroded beyond repair.
