I was looking at a MA Audio amp HK-397, or something like that it. It's a 2ch 600w amp that I was going to put my 10" Kicker VRs and run the @ 2ohms each. Is MA a good brand, or would I just be better with a Fosgate 550s or phoenix gold tantrum 500.2 amp? The Fosgate and PG amp are about 300 bucks, but the MA amp is about 230. Any ideas?

They probably are marginally better than Sony and Pyramid, but I wouldn't rank them at even the reliability or performance of Audiobahn.

I ran the next level down of these MA Audio amps (a 2-ch and 4-ch) and was quite shocked and/or pleased with the results. They replaced a PPI PCX 4-ch and a chrome PPI PC 2-ch. They actually sounded cleaner, more powerful and more controlled than the PPI amps! Yes, that's right, you heard me. They also ran a hell of a lot cooler than the PPI amps.

Haha, that isn't memphis audio. I was talking about the real memphis audio, not MA audio. I'm pretty sure those aren't even called memphis. IMO, those amps are pretty crappy. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot stick. Go with JBL amps. They are cheap, clean, underrated, and are some of the best bang for your buck.
