No I'm not running TP I'm running threshold 2. As for what shows in device manager, it shows: Intel Display Audio and NVIDIA High Definition Audio. As I said for the onboard audio, which uses RealTek ALC1150 codecs, it isn't detected at all. I booted into Ubuntu to see if it was windows related but in Ubuntu too there's no audio device detected.

go to the bios, disable the hd audio and do a restart, do a complete login to the OS. now again restart the machine and go into bios and enable hd sound, restart the machine. you have a working front panel audio. BTW, I am running Ubuntu as my OS & i have an "ASRock Phantom gaming 4 x570" motherboard, not sure if this is a factor or not;
