This is a common issue on a8n series board-sli and on the E version. The idea which i gave to you worked for some and some did not. Eventually, many gave up and put some el cheapo sound card. Its not the BIOS, its some unknown glitch on the onboard sound card which Asus werent (and didnt care) to solve the issue. It is not XP.
