Edit: It doesnt matter which Connection you use for your HDMI audio, both are just sending a signal. Only your Audio setup comes into play on how it sounds. so it doesn't matter which one you use.Unless your having issues with either one, or your onboard has software functions that you want that not on your gpu audio codec.

So I installed the ATI HDMI audio driver. This allowed the HDMI audio to work perfectly, but my Realtek onboard audio device was now disabled.
