I purchased the 88SX and love it. The sounds, while certainly not as high quality as most of the standard software libraries available, are very very good for typical gigs playing standard genres (rock, jazz, 70s, blues). I ran the Prokeys 88SX through a Roland RT-20 Rotary speaker simulator and the Prokeys organ absolutely SCREAMS.

You can buy both, m-audio ProKeys 88 and ProKeys 88sx in Amazon, and if you look at the prices, you can tell the difference: ProKeys 88 costs $300 more than ProKey 88sx.

The 88SX has 7 great voices, is lightweight, easy to use and well worth the price. However, it does not have keyboard splitting functionality, 14 voices, sound layering capabilities or some of the other features mentioned in the description on line. I suspect that someone combined the descriptions of the two differnet models.

Very light touch, touch the spring, then snap the keys. Easy to use just to play. In terms of connection to PC, it's more complicated. SOUNDS Sounds good for a beginner to an advanced, the sounds are rather ugly. Slow response. Effects: Reverb. (3 degrees), vel. curve (3 degrees), Chorus (3 degrees). OVERALL OPINION
