First off if you're using hdmi cable, I bet you're using nvidia hd audio and thats cool. But you'll also need to enable your onboard audio and install the drivers for it, which may be realtek hd audio. After installing that, you'll need to right click the sound icon> go to recording devices > right click show disabled > and enable stereo mix.

Enable Stereo mixing, to do this browse to Start > Control Panel > Sound (in classic view). Once done switch to the Recording tab which will show the currently active inputs on your system (e.g. Line in, Microphone). Activate "Stereo mixer" at playback device.Then go to the Bioshock directory (bioshock\Builds\Release) and use compatibility to Bioshick.EXE "Windows XP SP3" thats all. Activating stereo mixer worked perfectly in Windows 10 x64, and no windows xp or 2000 compatibility was needed!
