The cd seems to work perfectly, the tracks all come up when you insert the disk to the ps3 and are all named properly with correct song lenghts and everything but all i can hear is static which leads me to believe its a decoding issue. i have a Yamaha HTR-6130 which is a DTS compatible reciever.

Hi all, since i downloaded the latest system software (2.60) my ps3 wont play my audio dts cd's. I have tried changing settings again but only get white noise? I downloaded more dts cd's and put them to disk and still nothing, i even took my disks to my brothers house because he is on the 60gig console and wont work on his either (he is on 2.60)

Since the PS3 is capable of playing the CD directly, it can therefore decode the DTS audio. It can also pass it through to my amp via optical in a format the amp can recognise and play as DTS. I would therefore imagine (but I don't know for sure) that the PS3 should be able to take the same information, but from a hard drive on my network.
