Right-click the speaker icon in the Notification area of the Taskbar > Playback devices >then under the "Playback" tab click on "Speakers" (or the Default Device) > Properties > Advanced > then remove the checkmark in front of "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" > OK

then go to Control panel, Programs & features, Turn Windows features on or off and select it. [There is a route for doing this through Settings as well] - When you try to rip using WMP, there is no need to play the tracks while you do it. The tracks should appear when WMP detects a CD and you select its Rip tab.

Load an Audio CD and then RIGHT click on the icon for the drive and then select Autoplay option. In that option should be a list of programs, select the Windows Media Player (make it default). Other Info: Cakewalk (Sonar) by BandLab and Studio One 4.1 Pro recording studio software.
