So I can select to compress using MPEG Layer-3 and all the possible choices appear. But when I then select any specific audio stream all the choices disappear. It is as if Windows says "you cannot compress THIS audio". I wonder if it is something caused by some recent patch because it is happening in all my computers (All run win XP Pro SP3).

The problem is that Yahoo uses the DSP Truespeech codec that is installed by default on Windows XP. Vista does not have this same codec installed automatically. I made a quick page to address the Yahoo problem which can be found below.
