The single coil SV12 was a replacement for the DV12 (dual 8 ohm coils), with some improvements. By the time it came along, I had already switched to the NHT1259 that Ken Kantor was generous enough to make available to the DIY community around '94. The AC12 wasn't related to the DV12 or SV12 in any technical fashion.

I designed the boxes based on the downloadable program for the SV-12 from ACI. I used a 3rd order aperiodic box with a 250watt amp. The box was built of MDF board with oak faced plywood and solid oak corners. It is a downfiring design. After running for about 25hrs of breakin, I can say the sub has excellent tight musical sound.

ACI SV12 is a great driver for DIY subwoofers. I purchased it just for this purpose, but didn't ever get around to building the project. The driver has been in storage for ~10 years. There are no visible scratches, marks or blemishes. The rubber surround is supple. However, I'm grading as an 8 due to age. dcdollar member since December 2010
