So, to create an exact (offset corrected) copy of your CD, you would have to compensate the write offset already on reading. So instead of specifing the read offset as sample offset for extraction, you would rather use the combined read/write offset. This is easily calculated by the formula: Read Offset + Write Offset = Combined Read/Write Offset

Offset Technology. “Sample Offset” is another new feature of EAC, it will help to always get the same WAVs compared to a different reader drive and to prevent generation losses that way. Not quite. Put +6 as the read offset when ripping factory CDs. Put the value of x+6 as the combined read/write offset, where x is the write offset for your drive. (Hopefully, you can find that at The Coaster Factory.) When ripping CD-Rs that you burned on THAT drive, select the combined read/write offset (and remember to set it back to normal read offset later!).

Duplicating an audio CD using EAC. Nero does not take into account offset correction. Offset correction is not that important as the correction is really small (we are talking about dimensions of samples), at least IMO negligible. EAC is still a well matured product for extracting the audio-data of CDs, just that easy.
