Anyways, what I did might sound odd, but worked. I reinstalled Windows XP from scratch with SP3 enabled. I tried straight trying to install the Dell Utility, then the Intel Chipset S/W and then the Audio Drivers from Sigmatel. No go; same errors as before.

Re: SP3 no sound Actually SP3 blew away all my restore points prior to it's existence. I reinstalled it and now not only do I not have sound, my sound device isn't even found. Tomorrow I will toss a HD in, install windows and see if my sound device is found, if so I'll format and reinstall my current C and just ignore sp3.
