DVI doesn't support audio, but a lot of video cards actually have an HDMI port on the DVI. Though DVI is kind of old for a card as new as a 1030. Are you sure it isn't a display port instead? Display port does support audio, and many video cards actually are displayport++ ports which mean they can talk HDMI without needing an active adapter.
