You can allocate a different audio source (say a s/pdif input) with a specific HDMI input so by simply connecting a s/pdif to that input from a different audio source, the output when this input is selected will have video from one source and audio from another. Pretty sure you can't do this with HDMI inputs on a Yamaha amp.
