I habitually have BBC News 24 running in Media Center all day long with audio going to my PC speakers. If I want to check a video file I have encoded or view some video/audio material on the web I have to exit Media Center. I can't just mute the Media Center audio. Also. I may want to output audio via HDMI or SPDIF if I am feeding video to my HDTV.
