2013 Macbook Air 13" Microphone Input Volume Issue. Hi. I just got the 13-inch Mid 2013 MacBook Air with 1.3 Ghz Intel Core i5, 4GB DD3 Ram and 256 GB SSD. I am using a Bose MIE2i Mobile Headset with it. I have no trouble using the microphone on my iPhone 5, but when I connect the same headset to my macbook air, the microphone volume is very low.

I am trying to use the 3.5mm jack on the MacBook Air as an input jack. I am running several Mic's to a sound board, and then using it's output to get the audio to my system. The problem is, when I plug the cable into the jack, it thinks it is speakers. Does anybody have a solution? I cannot find any way to manually adjust this from output to input.
