For those that don't know, the Soro is a Class A single-ended line only 18 watt per channel integrated amplifier, with 4 inputs & tape loop. The tubes are made up of 1 x ECC82, 2 x 6SL7, 4 x 5881/6L6G. The MM Phono version adds 1 x ECC83 and 1 x 6DJ8. So overall, connectivity is good - my particular model has 2 CD inputs.

The amplifier also sounds very good with acoustic music, giving a very detail and musical sound. Female vocals like Laura Fygi come on as very involving as the mid range is warm although not as lush as the Jolida. On heavier music like pop and rock, the music sounds brittle and slightly flat.

From memory, even though the SORO SE was more powerful, it was not as quick or agile sounding. I don't think the SORO SE was really ever positioned as an upgrade to the OTO SE, but rather as an alternative, just like the MEISHU. Each uses a different compliment of tubes and none sound like the other.

The Oto SE manages 10W per side but frankly it's amply sufficient for normal listening especially if you value the communicative qualities I alluded to above rather than being forced into your chair. Yes the volume control tends to be used closer to 11:00 for involved listening but frankly who cares - its just a number!
