Hello, I have been using PCSX2 for a few years on Windows, never had an issue. I recently switched over to Linux Mint and the emulator is still working, but the sound is cutting in and out. 1 minute of sounds, 3 minutes nothing, 45 seconds of sound, ect.

I'm using Arch/Manjaro Linux with SDL 2.0.4, PCSX2 1.4.0 and PulseAudio. There are problems with the SDL Audio: SDL API: alsa - sound plays good, but the CPU usage by pcsx2 process is very high, SDL API: pulseaudio - CPU usage is normal, but the sound is crackling. It doesn't depend on any game, it happens also in PS2 BIOS.

Try every audio option ONE AT A TIME and note performance ( do not ignore the 'one at a time' rule). Repeat this with the video settings (the audio will stutter if the CPU gets bogged down. While it's unlikely that your GPU is the bottle neck, being that it's an emulator, absolutely everything has to go through the CPU).

05-30-2013, 05:53 AM. Regarding the crackling sound, that's the workaround I have always done, so I don't see a better way. I'm not sure about the hotkey issue though. For some reason I can't get savestate hotkeys to work in Linux version but F9 and F4 work fine. OS: Linux Mint 17.2 64 bit (occasional Antergos/Arch user)

PCSX2 incredible slow and terrible sound TECH SUPPORT I just installed PCSX2 on ubuntu 14.04 and it runs at 9 fps. I see that my CPU is at 70% and tthe RAM at 48% so I guess is not my hardware.. Either way Am running it on a HP laptop with 4 Gb of RAM and a AMD A4-5000 processor. is my machine to crappy or its just a matter of configuration?

The audio lag is significant and there is no way to fix audio lag in Guitar Hero 1-Encore, just visual/input lag. Are there any specific audio plugins or settings I should be using? The audio plugin I'm using right now is the one that came pre-installed with PCSX2. Try changing the SPU2-X module in options, I'm currently using SDL audio.
