After 2 long phone calls to Applecare I was told that other users had complained and there was some problem with audio and the 3TB Fusion Drive that the technical team were working to fix. But couldn't say when it would be fixed (!). They suggested I update to Mavericks and GB10 but I'm having the exact same problem.

The issue is apparently widespread, widely known, and affects audio interfaces from virtually all manufacturers, not just PreSonus. So, I bought iMac 27 (3.5 ghz i7; 1 tb fusion drive). I have no problems with fusion drive and audio. iMac works with Focusrite Saffire 24 DSP without hassle. SSD-part of the fusion is deadly fast - NI Komplete 9 instalation from mounted iso images took about 20 minutes only! iMac boots in few seconds, applications just pop up on the screen etc.
