To me this seems so Windows 95 and even then it was just audio drop outs due to FSB speeds issues, this audio issue with Window 7 64 bit is just plan weird. Being an A/V post production engineer using my computer primarily with DAWs and NLE’s, this issue with simple stereo audio play back is a deal breaker for Windows 7.
