The only problem was that there was a slight hum/static from the hard drive. I got a new Toshiba Satellite A505 laptop, running Win 7 Ultimate, downloaded Audacity and started recording voice tracks with the Logitech headset/mic. Both the previous answers are correct. The best place to get rid of hiss is in the original recording--if there's a continuous hiss, there's a problem with your recording system. It's worth doing some detective work to see if you can track it down.But of course that doesn't help you with things you've already recorded.

Sound sounds like it's coming from under water I am running Windows 10 - have had the computer 1 year. I stream sound from the computer through my stereo system.
