Audio Research LS15. I´m looking for advice about an Audio Research LS15 how it sound and possible match to my speakers JBL ti 250 (first model) I like a big soundstage and a lot of dynamics and no edgy top. i know my ti can be some hard in the top. Is this a good preamplifier for my taste. This in black and I really like the way it looks.

Audio Research is a great name, but I'm happy to say what everyone else is avoiding here. The LS2 is no better than average. Actually, that's overstating. It's actually far worse than average. Changing the tubes, capacitors, wiring etc. won't make it what it isn't. Put the fucker on eBay and watch the lemmings line up.

2017-06-16 4:29 pm. #1. Just bought a Audio Research LS5 MKII preamp which as you probably all know fully balanced configured from input to output. Consistency (and cost) dictated around 1995 when many highend audio firms adopted the balanced setup, that one could skip cinch/RCA connectors all together, at least AR did so on my LS5 MKII.
