the ls2b is a good unit, and i have recently found that it can be made to sound much much better, which is the reason i am writing this, as a service to owners of the ls2 or ls2-b. the stock ls2-b does not sound nearly as good as the ls16 mark ii, but can be made to sound almost as good by upgrading the output coupling capacitors.

It is a hybrid design using a single 6922 tube. It is very sensitive to tube changes and consequently will sound better with a good tube in there.

Re: Audio Research LS-22, ? The take I got on Wes' review is that the ARC is a fine preamp with a lot to like, he just liked the CJ more. The ARC is a hybrid type of preamp and probably doesn't have the tube liquidity that an all tube design usually has.
