I replaced my old LS-1 with the LS-8 after significant research, listening and discussion with the helpful folks at Audio Research. It appears that the major differences LS8 and the LS15 are (1) the remote control; and (2) some slightly beefier engineering in the output section.

Since the volume control is the part you use most often, this feature will be VERY appreciated once you use it….the best ARC volume control ever on a preamp under $10,000 in my opinion. I have always been impressed with Audio Research products.
