After having a VT100 which I bought used, I upgraded to a MKIII, which is a much better amp. The 6H30 tubes hold up much better than 6922 tubes for an amplifier. You also have four bias testers so each pair of power tubes can be biased. Like MKII it has a fan, but also has a switch for single ended and balanced inputs which the MKII does not have.

All four solid state represents the best on earth of the time, but they just don't sing like the VT-100. VT-100 still has the most natural decay, bloom, and tonal balance compared to all. A lot of you guys might argue tubes create euphonic bloom in midrange, but I live right next to a Steinway for three years and I know what they sound like in real life.

I have a VT-100 mkIII that I bought New. It has wonderful sound. I use it sometimes to drive my MMGs. Sounds unbelievable. Tube cost is high. 8-6550s. 4-6h30p.. 6550 life span is about 2000 hours. 2 years in my house. I have used ARC supplied tubes, and I have bought from the Tube Depot. Twice I have had a tube go bad and take a resistor with it.
