Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2010 Verified Purchase I got this unit through Amazon for a rock bottom price. The unit is very well made and sounds very good. Remote is nice. Door on front is a nice touch but i could do without it. Extremely quiet with no hiss what so ever! Loudness control is odd.

so the ax-497 is a stereo "receiver" without a lot of fancy features. For a zone 2 amp that feeds from the pre-amp outs you'll want a power amp. I would recommend an actual 4 channel power amp.
