Anyways, those settings are for surround sound systems. It allows people to use them properly for the type of device they use. 5.1 dolby digital or dts surround sound etc.. Just because you have a fancy TV doesn't mean it will work with those settings and most of the time you are doing your self a disservice aurally by doing so.

As far as I am aware, the best way to handle audio on the PS3 is to let it convert DDTHD and DTSMA to LPCM and output via HDMI.
