Anyways, those settings are for surround sound systems. It allows people to use them properly for the type of device they use. 5.1 dolby digital or dts surround sound etc.. As far as I am aware, the best way to handle audio on the PS3 is to let it convert DDTHD and DTSMA to LPCM and output via HDMI.
