Audio Technica ATH-M50: Straight vs. Coiled | Headphone ...

I am probably going to pick up a pair of ATH-M50s this week. I was wondering if I should get the straight or coiled cable version. I'm probably going to use them mainly for car/plane rides, and listening/gaming at the computer. The straight cable looks like it might be way too long for portable use, so I am leaning towards the coiled version.

the coiled cable is about 5 feet before you even start stretching it out. the straight cable is 11 or 12 feet (dont remember exactly but its way the fuck too much). the M50X is slightly different from what ive read, but not really an improvement. general concensus seems to be that the m50 is what you usually want to go with.

I have the straight cable and a friend has the coiled. if you are using them to produce I'd get a straight. Its long so if you have a desktop it can sneak behind desks etc. However on the go its kind of annoying. its a super long cable so you kinda have to wrap it all up. The coiled is just nicer for listening on the go.
