Audio Technica OC9ML/II - Sound Hi Fi

The AT-OC9ML/II is a squarish, metal-bodied cartridge with a tapered front. It weighs in at a reasonable 8 grams. The mounting is half-inch, and it should be compatible with most medium-mass tonearms. The cartridge body does not have threaded mounting screw holes, so beware mounting it with those small, easily lost nuts.

The OC-9ML/II is a very good cartridge. It will work just fine in your arm (it is generally forgiving of arm mass). You can always add more mass to your arm if you think it would improve performance. If you can pop for a Herron phono stage, even a used VTPH-1mc is a great bargain, it is well worth the investment.
AT33EV vs. AT-OC9ML/II | Steve Hoffman Music Forums

I've had both the OC9ML/II and the AT33EV, both loaded at 100 ohms with my iPhono 2. The 33 looks like a downgrade on paper with an inferior stylus cut and cantilever. And while I feel the OC9MLII is a fantastic value, the 33EV is definitely a step above. It's more refined, and not by a small amount. Highs are smoother, voices more realistic.
