Yes it does support it, if your external audio hardware supports it. Mine doesn't but Kodi gives me a stereo stream from it. Edit: It looks like EAC3 is indeed supported by the 4k Firestick. However there’s an Android Plex bug where if the EAC3 audio bitrate is misread as 0kbps (i.e. MKV encoded by ffmpeg) AND the file has 8+ embedded subtitle tracks AND passthrough is disabled it will end up glitching out and transcoding both the audio and video.
